Budget 2019: How Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi reacted in Lok Sabha during FM's speech

As Finance minister Piyush Goyal announced tax rebate on income up to Rs 5 lakh there was huge applause from the treasury benches in the Lok Sabha. The finance minister's proposal to double the income tax exemption limit to Rs 5 lakh from the next fiscal, drew a cheery response from the ruling side, who were seen thumping their desks. PM Narendra Modi too looked happy. Along with other senior leaders, he too thumped his bench as chants of "Modi, Modi" by BJP members filled the Lok Sabha. Not just this time, the Prime Minister applauded Goyal's speech several times. On the contrary, Congress president Rahul Gandhi looked blank as he listened to the income tax proposals.
