Girmit is a quick tea time snack. This can be a good variation to your regular bhel. This is a popular recipe from north Karnataka. Do try this yummy and easy recipe. You can drop a comment for me. You can like, share and subscribe.

Ingredients:
• 1 tbsp Peanuts
• 1 tsp Oil
• 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
• Curry leaves
• 1 cup finely chopped Onion
• 3~4 finely chopped Garlic cloves
• 1 tsp finely chopped green chili
• 1/2 cup finely chopped Tomato
• 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
• Water
• 2 tsp Tamarind pulp
• Jaggery
• Salt
• Roasted chana dal powder
• Churmure

Method:
• Heat up a pan on medium heat.
• Add peanuts and roasted them well.
• Transfer the peanuts into a bowl.
• Heat up oil in the same pan.
• Add mustard seeds and let them pop up.
• Add cumin seeds and let them splutter
• Add curry leaves, onion and fry until onion cooks nice and soft.
• When onion turns a little soft add green chile, tomato and fry until
tomato cooks nice and soft.
• Add turmeric powder and mix well.
• Add a little water to adjust the consistency.
• Mash the tomato a little.
• Blend roasted chana dal into fine powder in blender.
• Add tamarind pulp, jaggery, salt, chana dal powder and mix well.
• Cook on medium heat for another 2 minutes.
• Chutney or masala for girmit is already.
• Take churmure and add about a spoonful masala, roasted chana
dal powder and mix everything well together.
• While serving add churmure into a serving dish and add finely
chopped onion, tomato coriander leaves, roasted peanuts and
fine shev.
• You also can add roasted chana dal if you want.
• Mix masala with churmure just before serving. Do not keep it
ready before hand or else the churmure will become too soft.
